Nerja

Nerja is itself just 50mins drive from the modern airport at Malaga (note N 340 has been renumbered A 7),   Hire car or taxis can be arranged.  There is also a bus service via Malaga central.

Nerja remains unspoilt. Its policy of avoiding high-rise developments has left the narrow winding streets and whitewashed houses to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

The centre of Nerja is the Balcon de Europa, a palm-lined promenade stretching out over the rocks towards the sea. This former embattlement is now the focal point for all who visit the town. Stroll along and watch the bands and entertainers.

The Church of San Salvador overlooks the Balcon

There are plenty of cafes and restaurants throughout the streets of Nerja

In addition to the famous Burriana Beach, Nerja boasts many small coves and beaches from Burriana to the Balcon and beyond. Swim or relax on the beach. Take the sun as you eat the fresh caught sardines on the beachfront Cafes.

Nerja is not just a summer resort; it retains its unique charm all year round claiming the best climate in Europe. This is in part due to the surrounding Almijara mountains whose pine-clad slopes shelter the resort and provide stunning views and ideal countryside for walkers.

For the more energetic, scuba and diving trips are available, as is cycle (mountain bike) and scooter hire. Excursions can be arranged from the resort and other attractions include horse riding and walking.

The famous prehistoric caves at Maro can be visited all year round.

Golf Information: The two courses at nearby Torrox approach completion plus BAVIERA GOLF, situated in La Caleta is only a short drive from Nerja. AÑORETA GOLF CLUB is thirty kilometres away in Rincón de la Victoria and there are several other courses within an hours drive.
